A memorial announces a ceremony to the gods, states its purpose, describes its program and identifies sponsors.
Practical document cycle

- Record sponsors and petitioning community.
- State ritual purpose and requested divine action.
- Prepare document under ritual purity.
- Authenticate through seal, talismanic notation and/or priestly credentials as required.
- Read or present the document at the altar.
- Dispatch it, often by ritual burning.
- Complete the divine audience and record/close the rite.
