The text gives numerical claims for repeated successful vigils:
- three completed Gengshen vigils: the Three Corpses become frightened/agitated;
- seven completed vigils: the Three Corpses are said to be permanently cut off/ended.
Night procedure
Section titled “Night procedure”The same section states that before sleep one can:
- knock the teeth 3 × 7 times;
- place the left hand over the heart;
- call the names of the Three Corpses;
- thereby restrain their harmful action according to the source.
