A study of Yoshikawa-family Onmyōdō ritual material transcribes a Taizan Fukun ritual formula closely related to Tsuchimikado/Wakasugi tradition.
Invited beings, in order
Section titled “Invited beings, in order”The liturgy summons:
- King Yama / Enra Tenshi;
- Great Deity of the Five Paths;
- Taizan Fukun;
- Heaven Official;
- Earth Official;
- Water Official;
- Siming / Controller of Lifespan;
- Silu / Controller of Emolument or Destiny;
- Benming-shen / Natal-Destiny Deity;
- General Who Opens the Road;
- local land spirits;
- household/ancestral elder deity.
The formula repeatedly asks these beings to descend and take their seats.
Ritual architecture recovered

- summon infernal officials;
- summon Three Officials;
- summon lifespan/destiny officials;
- summon road/land/household powers;
- request every divine official occupy the assigned seat;
- present offerings;
- complete the petition.
Bureaucratic significance
