Fudō is one of the dominant Japanese goma deities.

Public ritual skeleton

1. Purify altar/hearth and officiant.
2. Establish Fudō and attendants through mantra, mudrā and visualization.
3. Kindle/consecrate fire.
4. Present offerings into flame.
5. Burn prayer sticks (gomagi) bearing petitions in many contemporary services.
6. Recite Fudō mantra/liturgy.
7. Dedicate merit and close.
