Publication of a tantra does not automatically grant:
- empowerment;
- oral transmission;
- reading transmission;
- ritual office;
- permission to construct the maṇḍala;
- authority to perform a hostile rite.
The encyclopedia therefore preserves what the text says separately from who a living tradition recognizes as authorized to perform it.

No modern photograph will be used to imply that a historical taboo survives today unless current evidence explicitly confirms it.
