Iconography

Doctrinal ritual purpose
Section titled “Doctrinal ritual purpose”Aizen does not simply represent romantic attraction. Esoteric interpretation transforms desire and passion into spiritual energy directed toward liberation. Historical cults also developed rites for peace, love and worldly benefit.
Practice architecture
Section titled “Practice architecture”- Receive the Aizen ritual/empowerment required by the lineage.
- Purify the ritual chamber.
- Install Aizen image or mandala.
- Establish offerings and ritual implements.
- Perform preliminary refuge/bodhicitta or Mikkyō preliminaries.
- Form the transmitted mudrā.
- Recite the transmitted mantra.
- Visualize the red six-armed Aizen according to the sādhana.
- Contemplate passions/desire as transformed rather than merely suppressed or indulged.
- Perform the application’s authorized petition/aspiration.
- Complete mantra accumulation/offerings.
- Dissolve/close and dedicate.
