The Japanese compilation explicitly labels its food restrictions as lifetime prohibitions.
Later practitioner transmission
Section titled “Later practitioner transmission”A Japanese ritual-source summary gives:
- goose;
- turtle;
- cattle;
- dog;
- eel;
- soft-shelled turtle;
- black carp;
- loach.
It also states that when performing the monthly sacred-descent rite the practitioner:
- cleans a dedicated ritual room beginning the previous day;
- performs saikai/mokuyoku, purification and bathing;
- removes fish/meat and impurity;
- purifies body and mind;
- performs the rite on the sacred-descent day.
Pollution rules
Section titled “Pollution rules”The same transmitted Japanese form says:
- one’s own birth pollution;
- one’s own death pollution are to be observed according to the relevant mourning/purity period.
