Historical tradition at Miwa combined kami worship with esoteric Buddhism, treating sacred Mt. Miwa through Diamond/Womb-world cosmology and linking Amaterasu, Miwa Daimyōjin and Dainichi.
Caution
Section titled “Caution”A modern “New Miwa-ryū” source explicitly states that the old lineage was destroyed during Meiji anti-Buddhist separation. Modern reconstruction must not be silently presented as uninterrupted medieval transmission.
