Research significance

An iconographic drawing of Aizen’s mandala is stronger procedural evidence than a later devotional portrait because it preserves deity placement and ritual design.

Reconstruction method

  1. Acquire a high-resolution reproduction.
  2. Transcribe every deity label/seed syllable.
  3. Map directional positions.
  4. Compare with the relevant Aizen ritual manual.
  5. Identify central deity, retinue and protective ring.
  6. Reconstruct altar orientation.
  7. Only then integrate mantra, mudrā and offering sequence from the text.
