Scope

This project aims at maximum practical coverage with traceable sources, while explicitly flagging uncertainty. Oral-only instructions, fragmentary manuscripts, and regionally shifting terms mean no encyclopaedia is literally exhaustive.

Reading rules

  1. Historical procedure = what sources describe.
  2. Supernatural claims are historical beliefs, not established scientific facts.
  3. Restricted rites are documented; authorization requirements are part of the procedure.
  4. Hazardous techniques are retained as evidence and not rewritten into optimized modern instructions.
  5. Do not invent missing ritual steps or imply initiation where none is documented.

Reliability / completeness

Section titled “Reliability / completeness”

Corpus reliability labels (A–D) and completeness scores (A–E) appear in source layers. Milestone-1 pages often mark completeness E until scholarly merge review.

Migration stance

Section titled “Migration stance”

Repeated entry numbers are research layers and retrofits. Pages may show divergent titles under one ID with status needs-review. Lossless preservation precedes elegant prose.
