Iconographic key
Section titled “Iconographic key”The central figure is the personification of a single Sanskrit syllable and resembles Dainichi. The hands form the wisdom-fist mudrā. Sovereign emblems and Butsugen Butsumo appear around the center.
Ritual sequence

- Purify the chamber and establish the mandala.
- Make offerings.
- Form the wisdom-fist mudrā where prescribed.
- Visualize the central single syllable.
- Allow the syllable to generate/manifest the central deity according to the sādhana.
- Recite the one-syllable mantra and associated formulas.
- Establish the surrounding ritual assembly.
- State/direct the rite toward the permitted ritual purpose.
- Complete the prescribed accumulation/offerings.
- Dissolve/close and dedicate.
