Tradition: Quanzhen; later Longmen
Class: MONASTIC PRECEPT CODE

A 1244 Quanzhen ordination certificate from Yongle gong indicates that Quanzhen used an older Tang precept text with relatively little modification. Longmen later modified it slightly.

  2. Candidate is examined/accepted by monastic authority.
  3. Precepts are transmitted in ordination.
  4. Ordination certificate records status.
  5. Candidate thereafter lives under both transmitted precepts and local monastery rules.
