A deity can be represented by a Siddhaṃ “seed” syllable. Visualization may move through:
seed syllable → symbolic implement → full deity → dissolution back into seed/emptiness.

Period: especially Song dynasty onward
Type: exorcism, healing, divine military ritual, internal alchemy
Thunder rites fuse the body, calendar, Five Phases, deities and celestial militia. The ritualist does not simply “call lightning”; Thunder is an administrative and energetic power mobilized through a trained priestly body.
Documented structural elements

- Establish thunder offices and generals within or around the ritual body.
- Form hand signs and/or point to bodily cosmological locations.
- Activate talismans, seals, spells and warrants.
- Assemble (huibing) celestial troops.
- Dispatch (jibing) them against the diagnosed obstruction or malign force.
- Receive/verify ritual result according to the manual.
- Recall troops and close the thunder administration.
